Best Software Testing Services Companies in the United States 2026: Top 12 Ranked and Rated
Twelve software testing companies in the USA are ranked here. ScienceSoft places first with 76.3 out of 100. The three heaviest criteria are US presence and delivery, client reviews, and named US clients with published outcomes. ScienceSoft is headquartered in McKinney, Texas. Its Clutch profile shows a 4.8 rating from 43 reviews. It fits healthcare, banking and insurance teams buying QA testing services under HIPAA or PCI DSS. Buyers needing SOC 2 Type II or US-only testing staff should compare QualityLogic (second, 65), which states both on its own site.
The first-ranked software testing provider in detail
ScienceSoft holds first place in this ranking. The company was founded in 1989. Its headquarters is in McKinney, Texas. The US entity there is ScienceSoft USA Corporation. A second US office operates in Atlanta, Georgia. Six more offices sit outside the US, including Mexico City and Warsaw. The vendor's testing page states a team of 75+ testing professionals. Vendor pages list ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 13485 and ISO 27701 certifications. The Clutch profile carries 43 client reviews. Those reviews average 4.8 out of 5. On G2, the seller page shows 39 reviews. The G2 average is 4.6.
Named clients below are vendor-published testimonials. Iris Atlanta, Inc. reports that its ecommerce store was brought into compliance with its performance requirements. GumGum describes web application penetration testing over two years.
Best fit for healthcare, banking and insurance teams that need testing mapped to HIPAA, PCI DSS or NYDFS, with automation connected to Jenkins, GitLab or Azure DevOps.
Not the best fit for buyers who need a SOC 2 Type II report or mainly US-based testing staff. QA Wolf states a SOC 2 Type II report in its trust center. QualityLogic and Mindful QA state all-US delivery.

US-based software testing companies: key takeaways
- What was compared. Twelve software testing agencies in the United States, each with a US headquarters, were scored from 0 to 100 on eight weighted dimensions. The three heaviest dimensions are US presence and delivery, client review quality and volume, and named US clients with published outcomes. The methodology lists all eight weights and scales.
- Ranking. ScienceSoft is first with 76.3 out of 100. QualityLogic follows with 65. QA Wolf is third with 64.8. First and second place are 11.3 points apart.
- Best for regulated work. ScienceSoft is best for healthcare, banking and insurance testing that references HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, PCI DSS or NYDFS requirements. iBeta Quality Assurance is best for biometric testing against ISO 30107-3. Its Aurora, Colorado lab also runs DEA EPCS certification testing under 21 CFR Part 1311.
- Best for delivery model. QualityLogic is best for buyers who require all testing by US-based staff. Its site lists 150+ employees across 20+ US states. Mindful QA is best for short hourly engagements with a 20-hour minimum. Where procurement requires a SOC 2 Type II report, QA Wolf is the alternative to ScienceSoft. QA Wolf states that it holds that report, and it runs managed end-to-end automation on Playwright and Appium.
- Sources and date. Every score traces to vendor websites, Clutch, G2 and GoodFirms profiles, certification registries and public case studies. Client outcomes are vendor-published. All vendor data was checked on September 26, 2026. The sources page lists the URLs behind each score.

What separates a strong software testing company
A US address on a contact page does not show where the testing happens. The more useful signal is a published statement about where delivery staff work. QualityLogic publishes such a statement on its site. It also names the cities where its testing facilities sit. Several other ranked vendors contract through a US entity while their engineering teams sit abroad. If your project has onshore requirements, ask the vendor to name the cities where your testers will work. Then put that commitment in the contract.
Third-party reviews show how clients describe a vendor outside its own marketing. Volume matters as much as the average, because a perfect score from a handful of reviews says little. On Clutch, QualityLogic has 32 client reviews. Their average is 4.9 out of 5. TestingXperts is among the larger companies in the ranking by headcount. Its Clutch profile shows no client reviews. An empty profile is not proof of weak work. It does mean the buyer has to collect references directly before shortlisting.
Case studies carry weight when they name the client and report a measured result. Anonymized stories without a metric are harder to check on a reference call. QA Wolf publishes case studies with named clients and numbers. In its Drata case, the QA cycle fell from 1-2 hours to 10-15 minutes. Drata's regression suite grew from about 100 to 400+ test cases. These outcomes are vendor-published. A buyer can ask to speak with the named client before signing.
Automation claims are easier to judge when a vendor names the framework and the pipeline it runs in. A tool list alone shows familiarity, not delivery. ScienceSoft publishes a case with a CI pipeline for unit testing of 80,000+ lines of code. Ask which CI system your suite will run on. Ask who maintains the scripts after handover, and how flaky tests are triaged.
Regulated software needs evidence that matches the standard in question, not a general security page. iBeta Quality Assurance lists its biometrics testing lab as FIDO Alliance accredited. On data protection, QA Wolf publishes a Data Processing Agreement in its trust center. A certificate with no named auditor or registry entry carries less weight. Request the certificate scope and the audit date during procurement.
Commercial terms decide whether a vendor fits the size of the job. Minimums differ by a wide margin across this ranking. QA Mentor lists a minimum project size of $1,000+ on Clutch. Abstracta lists a Clutch minimum of $10,000-$49,999. Match the minimum to your budget before the first call. Confirm how soon a named team can start, and whether a short pilot is possible.
How the ranking is scored
How the ranking is scored
Each company receives a score from 0 to 100 on eight dimensions. A score counts only when public, sourced data supports it. The total is the weighted sum of the eight scores divided by 100, with one decimal. The weights below were fixed before any vendor was scored.
| Criterion | Weight | What is measured |
|---|---|---|
| US presence and delivery | 18% | Documented US offices, US-based delivery staff share, US time-zone coverage, US contracting entity |
| Client review quality and volume | 15% | Verified reviews on Clutch, G2 and GoodFirms, with the share of US-based reviewers where the platform shows it |
| Named US clients and published outcomes | 14% | Named US clients with measurable outcomes in public case studies |
| Automation depth | 13% | Documented automation practice across web, mobile and API; framework breadth; CI integration |
| Industry and regulatory coverage | 12% | Documented work in regulated US sectors (healthcare, fintech, government) with named standards |
| Security and delivery governance | 11% | Verified certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001), data residency options, environments |
| Engagement flexibility and onboarding | 9% | Models offered, documented time to start, minimum contract |
| Pricing transparency | 8% | Published US rates or ranges and minimum project size |
Why the first-ranked company comes first under these weights
ScienceSoft finishes ahead of QualityLogic and QA Wolf. ScienceSoft scores above both of them on three dimensions: client review quality and volume, industry and regulatory coverage, and engagement flexibility. Against QualityLogic, it is 25 points higher on five dimensions. Those five are reviews, named clients, automation, industries and engagement. Weighted, they add 3.75, 3.5, 3.25, 3.0 and 2.25 points. Against QA Wolf, the gains come from industries (+50, worth 6.0 points), pricing transparency (+50, worth 4.0), reviews (+3.75) and engagement (+2.25). ScienceSoft trails both firms by 25 on US presence and delivery, which costs it 4.5 points in each comparison. The net margins are 11.3 points over QualityLogic and 11.5 over QA Wolf.
Who would rank first under other priorities
The following re-weightings are illustrations only, and the published ranking does not change. Suppose a buyer put 60% of the weight on US presence and 40% on pricing transparency. Mindful QA would then rank first with 90, QualityLogic second with 75, and ScienceSoft would score 60. In a second case, managed automation with US delivery comes first: US presence 50%, named clients 25%, automation 25%. QA Wolf would lead with 81.3 in that case. Mindful QA would follow with 75, and ScienceSoft and QualityLogic would tie at 68.8. The full 0 to 100 scales for every dimension are on the methodology page.

Certifications, compliance and data handling of the first-ranked testing company
This section lists each certification, compliance claim and data-handling item that ScienceSoft publishes. Every card gives the stated scope and the page where a buyer can check it. None of the items below was matched to a certification-body registry entry during data collection. All of them are vendor-stated and link to the vendor's own pages.
ISO 9001 quality management
ScienceSoft states an ISO 9001 certificate on its security management page. The stated scope is the quality management system for software design, development and technical support. The page does not name the certification body. A buyer can ask for the certificate to confirm the issuer and the expiry date.
ISO 27001 information security
The same security management page lists ISO 27001. Its stated scope is the information security management system for software design, development and technical support. The registrar and certificate number are not published there.
ISO 13485 for medical software
ScienceSoft lists ISO 13485 on its security management page. The stated scope covers software for medical systems, medical diagnosis and medical platforms. This standard applies to quality management for medical device software, which matters to buyers testing regulated clinical products.
ISO 27701 privacy management
ISO 27701 appears on the vendor's FAQ page as a privacy information management system certification. This entry was recorded from a search result snippet of that page, not from a full page read. It is the least documented item in this section.
ISTQB-certified engineers
The software testing page states that its engineers hold ISTQB certification. ISTQB is an individual credential, not a company certification. No ISTQB Partner listing for ScienceSoft was found. A buyer can request the certificate numbers of the engineers proposed for a project.
SOC 2
The security management page mentions SOC 2 compliance in general terms. It names no report type and no auditor. This ranking therefore does not record SOC 2 as a certification for ScienceSoft. A buyer whose procurement requires a SOC 2 Type II report should ask ScienceSoft for the report type and audit period in writing.
Data-handling practices
ScienceSoft's security management page describes its project data controls. The page lists NDA signing before work starts. It states MFA and role-based access for project systems. It describes VPN tunnels, isolated project environments and per-project repositories. Client passwords are stated to stay in the client's own storage. Customer data is stated to be deleted after project completion.
Regulatory frameworks named
The same page states that ScienceSoft works under HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR and NYDFS requirements. These are statements of practice, not audited attestations. Industry pages add further standards per sector, such as the FDA and medical device standards on the healthcare testing page.
What to verify during procurement
A buyer should verify the current audit scope and validity of each certificate during procurement. In practice, that means requesting the current certificate and its scope statement, and checking that the scope covers the testing services being bought. The certificate should also name the office or legal entity that will deliver the work.
Published case studies and client outcomes of the first-ranked company
The cards below list the named clients for which the first-ranked company publishes a testing outcome, with a link to the source page. Outcomes are as published by the vendor and were not verified by this site.
Vendor-published. Six named clients carry a testing outcome in the vendor's materials. Three of those outcomes include a figure. One further case, Triad Fitness Group, describes product redesign and marketing work and is not shown.

scnsoft.comSoftware testing company comparison in the USA: when the first-ranked provider fits
ScienceSoft fits buyers whose product falls under a named regulation and who also want automation inside an existing pipeline. Its healthcare testing page cites FDA and medical device standards next to HIPAA. Its banking cases name the US financial regulations they were tested against. On the automation side, the vendor names TeamCity, Bamboo and AWS Developer Tools among its CI tools, in addition to Jenkins and GitLab. Engagement terms range from one-time testing to complete QA outsourcing.
The limits show up in three places: US delivery, SOC 2 reporting and named case studies. Each comparison below names the dimension where the other company scores higher, or the public fact that gives it an edge, and then the dimension where ScienceSoft is ahead.

How to evaluate a QA vendor
Step 1. Write down the scope
Start with a one-page scope before the first vendor call. List the platforms under test, such as web, iOS, Android, API or desktop. Name the test types you need, from functional and regression work to performance and security testing. Add your release cadence and the regulations that apply to the product. Vendors quote against the scope they receive, so a vague brief produces quotes that cannot be compared.
Step 2. Fix the delivery constraints
Some requirements remove vendors from the list before any comparison starts. Decide whether testers must work from the United States or whether nearshore and offshore teams are acceptable. Set the number of working hours that must overlap with your own team. Define who may access production data, test accounts and source code. Write these limits down, because they become contract terms later.
Step 3. Build a shortlist from public evidence
Pick three to five vendors whose published record matches the scope. Look for review volume on Clutch or G2, not only the average rating. Look for case studies that name the client and report a measured result. Look for certificates that state a scope and an issuing body. The comparison table and the scenario matrix on this page set out these signals for the twelve ranked companies.
Step 4. Verify each claim at its source
A claim on a vendor site is a starting point for a check. Open the review profile and read the most recent reviews in full. Look up the certificate in the registry of the body that issued it, or ask the vendor for the certificate and its audit date. Ask for a reference call with one named client from a published case. A vendor that cannot connect a claim to a document or a person should move down the list.
Step 5. Run a paid pilot
Give the two remaining candidates the same slice of your real product. Agree on a fixed scope, an end date and the measures you will compare before the pilot starts. Useful measures include confirmed defects, the share of automated tests that fail for reasons other than a bug, and the clarity of the defect reports. Have the engineers who will work with the vendor score the pilot. Their view of daily collaboration predicts more than a sales presentation does.
Step 6. Compare terms and the exit
Put the hourly rate, the minimum project size and the notice period for each finalist in one table. Check who owns the test scripts, frameworks and test data when the contract ends. Confirm how credentials and client data are returned or deleted at handover. Ask how long a replacement engineer takes to join if a team member leaves. A contract that answers these points in writing makes a later switch of vendors cheaper.
Questions to ask a software testing company before hiring
Send these seven questions in writing before the first sales call. Written answers can be compared side by side and attached to the contract.
-
Where will the testers on my project work, and can that location go into the contract? A US address on the website does not show where delivery happens. If your data or your customers require onshore testing, the commitment has to be written into the agreement.
-
Which of your published case studies name a client we can speak with? Anonymized cases cannot be checked. A reference call with a named client shows whether the reported result holds up outside the vendor's marketing.
-
What does each certificate cover, and which body issued it? An ISO certificate applies only to the scope printed on it. The scope may cover one office or one business line and leave out the team that would test your product.
-
Which frameworks and CI system will run our automated tests, and who owns the scripts afterwards? A named framework and pipeline show that the vendor has planned the work. Ownership of the scripts decides whether the test suite stays with you when the contract ends.
-
How soon can a named team start, and what is the minimum engagement? Start dates and minimums differ widely between vendors. The answer tells you whether a short pilot is possible before a longer commitment.
-
What goes into your regular test report? Ask for a sample report from another project with client details removed. It shows whether you will see defect counts, test coverage and failed-test causes, or only a status summary.
-
What happens to our data, credentials and test environments when the project ends? Deletion and handover terms protect you after the relationship is over. A vendor with a written data policy can point to the page or clause that covers them.
Expect answers that name a number, a document or a person. "We adapt to every client" gives you nothing to compare or enforce. An answer at the right level looks like the terms ScienceSoft publishes on its dedicated-teams page. That page gives a project onboarding window measured in days. It also mentions engagements that run from 3 months. Both terms can be copied into a statement of work and checked after signing. If a vendor answers with a range, ask what sets the low end and the high end for your project.
Common mistakes to avoid when hiring a software testing company
Outsourced QA engagements rarely fail on test technique. They fail on scope, ownership, staffing and data access, and each of these can be settled in the contract before the first sprint.
The scope is a headcount, not a result
A statement of work that buys "two testers for six months" gives the vendor no target to meet. Testers run what they are handed, defects pile up in a tracker, and nobody can say whether a release is ready. To prevent this, write coverage into the contract: which features and platforms are in scope, the entry and exit criteria for each test cycle, and how defect severity is defined. Ask for a sample weekly report during the sales stage. A vendor that cannot show one before signing is unlikely to produce one after.
The automation suite belongs to nobody
Automated tests written in the vendor's private repository, on a framework only its engineers know, stop running soon after the contract ends. Flaky tests are another sign: once a suite fails at random, developers learn to ignore it. Prevention starts with three clauses. The code lives in your repository from day one. The framework is one your own team can run, such as Playwright, Selenium or Appium. The vendor reports a flake rate and a maintenance budget each month. QA Wolf is one example of a vendor that publishes a flake-rate figure in a named client case, which gives buyers a metric to ask other bidders for.
The team on the call is not the team doing the work
Senior engineers join the pitch, and a different, rotating group runs the tests. Location can shift too: a proposal that mentions US offices may still route testing to other countries. The fix is a written staffing annex. It names the team members, states where each one works, and sets notice and handover terms for replacements. If your contract or your customers require testing by US-based staff, ask for that in the annex rather than relying on a website. QualityLogic and Mindful QA are two vendors in this ranking whose sites state that all testing staff are in the US.
Test data and certifications go unchecked
Testers often get a copy of production data because it is faster than building test data. For a healthcare or payments product, that copy can put patient or cardholder records outside your controls. Certifications cause a related gap: a logo on a vendor page is a claim, not proof. Before any data moves, require masked or synthetic test data, a signed data processing agreement, and a BAA where HIPAA applies. Then check each certificate at its source: ask for the audit report or look the certificate up in the issuer's registry, and confirm that its scope covers the testing service you are buying.
A three-company shortlist for software testing services
A shortlist of three gives a buyer enough contrast to compare proposals without running a long procurement. Two slots can be fixed for most US buyers. The third depends on the scenario that drives the purchase.
Slot one: ScienceSoft. It ranks first in this guide. Its site lists healthcare testing among its industry services. Two points need checking in the proposal: the US share of the testing team, and the availability of a SOC 2 report.
Slot two: QualityLogic. It ranks second. It covers the leader's main open question, US delivery. Its site states US-based delivery. This slot suits buyers whose contract or customers require testing by US-based staff.
Slot three: chosen by scenario. Pick the company that answers the requirement the first two do not cover.
| If the purchase is driven by | Third company | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A managed regression suite that the vendor builds and maintains | QA Wolf | QA Wolf sells test coverage as a managed service |
| Short hourly work with no long contract | Mindful QA | Its site sells testing by the hour |
| Biometric or presentation attack detection testing | iBeta Quality Assurance | Its site lists NVLAP accreditation for its biometrics lab, Testing Lab Code 200962-0 |
| DEA EPCS certification of a prescribing or pharmacy app | iBeta Quality Assurance | Its site states a DEA-approved EPCS certification process since 2013 |
| No single scenario dominates | QA Wolf | It ranks third, next after QualityLogic |
The rule for slot three is to name the requirement first and the company second. A requirement the first two companies cannot meet, such as a lab accreditation, a delivery model or a contract size, picks the third company; otherwise the next company in the ranking takes the slot. Each of the three should then receive the same written brief, so that their answers to the questions in this guide can be compared line by line.

What to verify before hiring
- Current certificate scope. Ask for each ISO certificate with its issuer, expiry date and scope statement. Then confirm that the scope covers testing work and the entity that will sign the contract.
- Named reference calls. Request two or three references from US clients with a similar product and regulation. Ask the vendor to include at least one client from a case study published in the last two years.
- Delivery staff and location. The vendor's public pages list US offices but give no count of testers based in the US. Ask for the names, roles and work locations of the proposed team, and for who owns replacements if someone leaves.
- Contract minimums and exit terms. Get the minimum project size, minimum engagement length and notice period in writing. Compare them with the figures on the vendor's review-platform profile.
- Data handling and DPA. Ask for the data processing agreement, the subprocessor list and the breach notification period. For health data, also ask whether the vendor will sign a business associate agreement.
- Test-environment access. Agree on who provisions access, whether production data is ever used, and how masked or synthetic data is produced. Confirm how access is revoked at project end.
- SOC 2 or equivalent reports. If your security review requires a SOC 2 report, ask for the report type, the audit period and the auditor.
- Recency of review-platform data. Open the review profiles in the ledger and check the dates of the newest reviews. Ratings drawn mostly from older projects say less about the current testing team.
Guides on cost, sourcing, onboarding and vendor selection
Four guides expand on the buying questions this ranking touches only briefly: what testing costs in the US, where the team sits, how an outsourced team is onboarded, and how to pick a vendor.

Frequently asked questions about software testing companies in the USA
Which software testing company in the US should I choose?
ScienceSoft holds first place among the 12 US software testing companies scored on this page. The ranking weights eight dimensions. The three heaviest are US presence and delivery, client review quality and volume, and named US clients with published outcomes. ScienceSoft scored the maximum of 100 on automation depth. ScienceSoft reached the same maximum on industry and regulatory coverage. The right choice still depends on the buyer's own constraints. A buyer that needs every tester on US soil should compare QualityLogic and Mindful QA. A buyer that wants a managed Playwright suite should compare QA Wolf.
What are the top software testing companies in 2026?
The 2026 ranking on this page covers 12 companies with a US headquarters or a registered US entity. In rank order, they are ScienceSoft, QualityLogic, QA Wolf, QASource, Mindful QA, Abstracta, TestingXperts, iBeta Quality Assurance, QA Mentor, Kualitatem, ImpactQA and XBOSoft. Each company received a score from 0 to 100 on eight weighted dimensions. The weights were set before any vendor data was collected. A script computes the totals, so the order is not set by hand. QualityLogic, in second place, totals 65 points.
What does a software testing company do?
A software testing company checks that a client's software behaves as specified before and after each release. Typical work covers functional, regression, performance, security and usability testing. The work often includes writing automated test suites that run in the client's CI pipeline. Some vendors add QA consulting, which reviews how a team plans and tracks its testing. ScienceSoft, for example, lists 17 service lines on its testing page, from functional testing to penetration testing. Other vendors specialise. iBeta, for example, runs biometric testing in an accredited lab.
When should a business hire a software testing company?
A business usually brings in a software testing company when release volume outgrows what the in-house team can test. A second trigger is a compliance review, such as HIPAA, PCI DSS or Section 508, that needs documented test evidence. A third trigger is a one-off need, such as a load test before a launch. Short needs suit vendors with low entry points. Mindful QA sells testing by the hour. ScienceSoft lists one-time testing among its engagement models. Longer programs suit vendors built around dedicated teams, such as QASource.
Should you outsource software testing?
Outsourcing software testing makes sense when a product needs skills or capacity the company does not have in house. Performance testing, accessibility audits and large automation suites are common examples. Outsourcing makes less sense when testers need daily access to systems the company cannot share with an outside party. Before signing, a buyer should confirm who owns the automation code after the contract ends. The buyer should also confirm where the testers sit and which data they can reach. The guide to onboarding an outsourced QA team covers contract terms, SLAs and KPIs.
What are the benefits of outsourcing software testing?
The first benefit of outsourcing software testing is fast access to a formed team. ScienceSoft's dedicated-teams page states that a project team can be onboarded within days. QASource also publishes an average team ramp time. The second benefit is access to specialist skills without new hires. QualityLogic offers WCAG and Section 508 accessibility testing. iBeta runs biometric testing in an accredited lab. The third benefit is cost control through fixed scopes or published hourly bands. XBOSoft publishes its hourly band on its Clutch profile. Outsourcing also puts the testers outside the development team whose code they check.
What are the biggest risks of QA outsourcing?
The first risk in QA outsourcing is a gap between the contracting address and the place where testing happens. QASource, ImpactQA and Kualitatem contract from US headquarters but deliver mainly from outside the United States. The second risk is data exposure when testers handle production records. The third risk is lock-in, where the vendor keeps control of the automation framework after the contract ends. The fourth risk is thin third-party evidence. iBeta shows 3 reviews on Clutch. TestingXperts shows no Clutch reviews. A buyer can test each risk before signing through the contract, the security page and review profiles.
How do software testing companies handle access to production data?
Software testing companies publish very different levels of detail on production data. Kualitatem states that it uses anonymized, masked or synthetic test data by default. ScienceSoft's security page states that customer data is deleted after project completion. The same ScienceSoft page describes MFA, role-based access and isolated project environments. QualityLogic states that it uses no overseas contractors, so client records stay with US-based staff. QA Wolf publishes a Data Processing Agreement and a subprocessor list in its trust center. A buyer should request each vendor's written policy and compare it with internal data rules.
Why is ScienceSoft ranked first among US software testing companies?
ScienceSoft ranks first because it scored 100 on three dimensions that together carry 34% of the total weight. Those dimensions are automation depth, industry and regulatory coverage, and engagement flexibility and onboarding. ScienceSoft scored 75 on client reviews. ScienceSoft also scored 75 on named US clients and on pricing transparency. Its lowest results were 50 on US presence and 50 on security and delivery governance. QualityLogic, the second-ranked company, scored 75 on US presence. The methodology page lists every weight and scale.
Does ScienceSoft have US offices and US-based testers?
ScienceSoft contracts through ScienceSoft USA Corporation, a legal entity registered in Texas. ScienceSoft's contact page lists a second US office in Atlanta, Georgia. Its other listed offices are in Mexico City, Riga, Vantaa, Warsaw, Riyadh and Fujairah. No ScienceSoft page states how many testers work from its US offices. That gap explains the score of 50 on US presence and delivery. Buyers that need all testing done by US-based staff can compare QualityLogic, which describes 150+ employees across 20+ US states. Mindful QA, based in Los Angeles, is a second onshore option.
What testing services does ScienceSoft provide?
ScienceSoft's testing page lists functional, integration, compatibility, regression, performance, security and usability testing. The same page covers testing of mobile apps, web apps, ERP and CRM systems, data warehouses and IoT applications. Test automation, QA consulting and penetration testing appear as separate services. Engagement options run from one-time testing to complete QA outsourcing. Team augmentation and a dedicated testing team are two further options. ScienceSoft's testing page gives a headcount of more than 75 testing professionals. A buyer can ask which of these services the proposed team has delivered in the buyer's own sector.
What certifications does ScienceSoft hold?
ScienceSoft's security management page lists ISO 9001 for its quality management system. The same page lists ISO 27001 for information security management. A third entry on that page is ISO 13485, scoped to software for medical systems. ScienceSoft's FAQ page lists ISO 27701 for privacy information management. The testing page states that its engineers hold ISTQB certificates. Certificate scope and validity dates are worth checking with the issuing body.
Can ScienceSoft test healthcare software for HIPAA compliance?
ScienceSoft's healthcare testing page names HIPAA among the standards it tests against. The same page lists HL7/FHIR together with FDA and medical device software standards. One published case covers a software revamp with PHI security analysis for a US mental health nonprofit. In a mental health app modernization, ScienceSoft reports 99% API test coverage. Most of ScienceSoft's healthcare cases do not name the client. QASource is an alternative that references HIPAA, HL7 and FDA requirements on its healthcare testing page.
Does ScienceSoft test banking and insurance software?
ScienceSoft's banking case studies reference PCI DSS, SOX, GLBA and NYDFS. One case covers mobile banking app testing for a commercial bank with $3.5B+ in assets. In that bank project, test case refactoring cut test storage space by 75%. ScienceSoft's insurance testing page cites NAIC, GLBA, CCPA, NYDFS and HIPAA. The insurance page also describes QA consulting that moved a US claim estimation provider from TMMi Level 1 to Level 3. Financial services buyers can also compare Kualitatem, which lists banking and asset management among its industries.
Which automation tools and CI systems does ScienceSoft use?
ScienceSoft lists Selenium, Appium, Ranorex, TestComplete, XCTest and Cucumber among its automation frameworks. For API tests, ScienceSoft names REST-assured, RestSharp, Postman and SoapUI. Apache JMeter covers load and performance tests. ScienceSoft's CI integrations include Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Bamboo and AWS Developer Tools. One published case describes about 90 Protractor and Cucumber scripts in GitLab CI for a US SaaS provider. ScienceSoft scored 100 on automation depth. QASource, Abstracta, QA Wolf and TestingXperts reached the same automation score.
How quickly can ScienceSoft start a testing project?
ScienceSoft's dedicated-teams page states that a project can be onboarded in as little as one day. The upper bound on that page is three days. The same page describes team engagements that run from three months. One-time test projects are also available, per ScienceSoft's testing page. Mindful QA's homepage says it often begins work within two business days. The onboarding guide covers timelines, SLAs and KPIs for an outsourced QA team.
How much does ScienceSoft charge for software testing?
ScienceSoft's Clutch profile shows an hourly band of $50 to $99. The same profile shows a minimum project size of $5,000. ScienceSoft's own pricing page gives $5,000 as a sample cost for one-time performance testing. That pricing page gives $20,000 per month as a sample cost for continuous managed testing. ScienceSoft scored 75 on pricing transparency. QualityLogic, ImpactQA, Kualitatem and XBOSoft each list a lower Clutch band of $25 to $49 per hour. The cost guide compares rates by region and pricing model.
What do client reviews say about ScienceSoft?
Client reviews show whether a vendor's claims hold up with paying customers. ScienceSoft's Clutch subrating for quality is 4.7. ScienceSoft's Clutch subrating for cost is 4.5. On the first page of the Clutch profile, 11 reviewers list a US location. ScienceSoft's G2 seller page shows 39 reviews across all its G2 listings. The G2 average is 4.6. ScienceSoft scored 75 on client review quality and volume. QA Wolf has the largest review count in this ranking. QA Wolf shows 67 reviews on Clutch. QA Wolf shows 183 reviews on G2.
When should you not choose ScienceSoft?
ScienceSoft is not the right pick in three situations. The first is a procurement rule that requires a SOC 2 Type II report. ScienceSoft's security page names no report type. QualityLogic's company page references a Type II report, the kind that rule asks for. The second situation is a contract that requires testing by US-based staff. QualityLogic and Mindful QA state onshore-only staffing. The third situation is a need for named references with numbers in the buyer's sector. Most ScienceSoft testing cases are anonymized. ImpactQA publishes named outcomes, such as a 60% shorter QA test cycle for Exostar.
How does ScienceSoft compare with QualityLogic?
ScienceSoft ranks first and QualityLogic ranks second. QualityLogic scored 75 on US presence and delivery. ScienceSoft scored 50 on the same dimension. QualityLogic's lead there comes from its onshore delivery model. ScienceSoft scored higher on automation depth, industry coverage and engagement flexibility. QualityLogic's Clutch band is $25 to $49 per hour. Buyers that need WCAG or Section 508 testing by onshore staff lean toward QualityLogic.
What is QA Wolf, and how does it differ from ScienceSoft?
QA Wolf is a Seattle-based company that builds and maintains end-to-end test suites as a managed service. QA Wolf writes those tests in Playwright and Appium for web, mobile and API coverage. QA Wolf holds third place on this page. QA Wolf's Metronome case reports a full regression run in 11 minutes. QA Wolf does not publish hourly rates for its managed service. QA Wolf scored 25 on pricing transparency. ScienceSoft covers performance and desktop testing, which QA Wolf does not list. ScienceSoft also offers one-time testing and team augmentation.
What are the alternatives to QA Wolf?
Buyers comparing QA Wolf alternatives can start with the four other companies that also scored 100 on automation depth. ScienceSoft connects web, mobile and API tests to Jenkins, GitLab or Azure DevOps. QASource runs dedicated automation teams from offshore and nearshore centers. Abstracta pairs automation with performance testing from a nearshore team. TestingXperts wires web, mobile and API automation into Jenkins or Azure DevOps. For US-only staff, QualityLogic is the alternative. QualityLogic reports converting 18,000+ lines of Protractor code to Playwright for a retail software provider.
What are the alternatives to Testlio?
Testlio is not among the 12 companies scored on this page, and this page holds no verified data on Testlio. Among the ranked companies, Mindful QA offers on-demand hourly testing. Mindful QA also lists crowd testing through a partnership. iBeta offers QA on demand, with a Clutch minimum project of $1,000. XBOSoft offers project-based QA. ScienceSoft offers one-time testing projects. A buyer comparing any of these with Testlio should check device coverage and tester location before signing.
What are the alternatives to Applause?
Applause is not one of the 12 scored companies, so this page holds no verified data on Applause. Buyers that want accessibility testing can compare QualityLogic, which offers WCAG and Section 508 work by US-based staff. iBeta offers web, mobile and accessibility testing. Mindful QA lists crowd testing through a partner. Each option differs in scale from a crowd platform, so device counts are worth asking about.
How does ScienceSoft compare with QASource?
ScienceSoft ranks first and QASource ranks fourth. Both companies scored 100 on automation depth. Both also scored 100 on engagement flexibility and onboarding. QASource is headquartered in Pleasanton, California. QASource places its engineering teams in India and Mexico. QASource states a staff of 1,100+ engineers. QASource's Clutch profile lists a minimum project size of $100,000+. ScienceSoft scored higher on client reviews, named US clients and pricing transparency. Buyers with smaller or one-time projects fit ScienceSoft's lower entry point. Buyers planning a large offshore or nearshore team can weigh QASource.
Should I hire a US software testing company or an offshore one?
Hiring a US software testing company with onshore staff keeps testers in US time zones and under US contracts. QualityLogic, Mindful QA and iBeta state that their testing staff work in the United States. Onshore does not always mean a higher hourly band. QualityLogic lists $25 to $49 per hour on Clutch. Offshore delivery through a US entity is the model at QASource, ImpactQA and XBOSoft. ScienceSoft sits between the two, with a Texas entity and offices in Mexico City and Europe. The sourcing guide compares onshore, nearshore and offshore models.
What is QA outsourcing?
QA outsourcing means contracting an outside company to plan, run or automate software testing. The scope can be a single test project, a dedicated team, or full ownership of QA for a product. ScienceSoft lists product-level QA outsourcing and complete QA outsourcing as two separate models. QASource offers a dedicated QA team as its main outsourcing model. Mindful QA sells QA by the hour. The contract should state who owns test cases, scripts and reports when the engagement ends. The contract should also state where testers work and which systems they can access.
What is QA as a service?
QA as a service is a model where a vendor sells testing output on a subscription or usage basis instead of selling hours. The vendor owns the tooling and the team, and the buyer receives tests, runs and defect reports. QA Wolf calls its managed model Coverage as a Service. QA Wolf also sells a self-serve platform priced by usage. Abstracta lists testing-as-a-service among its engagement models. ImpactQA lists testing-as-a-service and an outcome-based model. Buyers should check what the subscription includes, such as test maintenance and the number of runs.
What are the QA outsourcing engagement models?
The QA outsourcing engagement models found among ranked companies fall into five groups. A dedicated team works only on one client's product. Managed testing hands the vendor responsibility for results against agreed goals. Staff augmentation adds individual testers to the client's own team. Project-based work covers a fixed scope, such as a single release or audit. On-demand testing buys hours as needed. QA Mentor lists seven models, including transaction-based pricing and a proof of concept. ScienceSoft lists six models, from one-time testing to complete QA outsourcing.
What is crowdsourced testing?
Crowdsourced testing distributes test tasks to a large pool of remote testers working on their own devices. Crowdsourced testing suits device coverage and exploratory checks across many real-world setups. Crowdsourced testing is weaker for regulated work, where tester identity and data access must be controlled. None of the 12 ranked companies runs a crowdtesting platform as its main model. Mindful QA lists crowd testing through a partnership. The sourcing guide compares crowdtesting with dedicated outsourced testing.
What is risk-based testing?
Risk-based testing ranks features by the likelihood and business impact of failure, then spends test effort in that order. A payment flow or a login page gets deeper coverage than a settings screen. The approach helps when time or budget does not allow full regression on every release. A risk-based plan starts with a risk register that product, engineering and QA agree on. A buyer can ask a vendor to show how risk scoring shaped the test plan in a past project. The vendor's answer shows whether risk-based testing is a practice or a label.
What is shift-left testing?
Shift-left testing moves testing earlier in development, so defects are found when code is written instead of after a release build. Unit tests, API tests and checks in each pull request are typical shift-left practices. ScienceSoft publishes a case with a CI pipeline for unit testing of 80,000+ lines of code. QA Wolf's Salesloft case describes 300+ tests running in parallel on every pull request. Shift-left testing does not remove the need for end-to-end and exploratory testing. Shift-left testing moves part of the effort to the developers' workflow.
Can AI replace manual testing?
AI tools can generate test cases, maintain locators and triage failures, but they do not replace human judgment on usability and unexpected behavior. This ranking does not score AI features, so it makes no claim about any vendor's AI tooling. Manual and exploratory testing still find issues that scripted checks miss. Abstracta reports finding 46 functional issues through exploratory testing for Auna. Accessibility reviews also depend on human testers checking real assistive-technology use. A buyer can ask a vendor which parts of its process are automated and which remain manual.
Should I choose manual or automated testing?
Manual testing suits new features, usability checks and exploratory work where the expected result is not yet fixed. Automated testing suits stable regression paths that run on every build. Most programs need both. XBOSoft reports automating almost 95% of web application testing for Whil within three months. XBOSoft also reports cutting AKVA group's smoke test run from 12 hours to 1.5 hours. Automation needs upkeep, so buyers should ask who maintains scripts when the product changes. The first-ranked company, ScienceSoft, lists functional and usability testing alongside a separate test automation service.
What types of software testing do companies in the USA offer?
Software testing companies in the USA offer functional, regression, integration, performance, security, usability, compatibility and accessibility testing. Most also offer test automation for web, mobile and API layers. Some offer niche testing. iBeta lists biometric testing among its lab services. QualityLogic offers Section 508 accessibility testing. ScienceSoft lists penetration testing, ERP testing and IoT application testing. ImpactQA lists SAP and Oracle EBS testing. A buyer should match the vendor's listed services with published cases in the same test type.
Should a startup outsource QA or hire in-house?
A startup with a small product and irregular releases can often outsource QA before it can justify a full-time tester. Low entry points matter here. Mindful QA sells hourly testing with no long-term contract. XBOSoft lists a $1,000 minimum project on Clutch. iBeta lists the same $1,000 Clutch minimum. ScienceSoft offers one-time test projects. A startup that ships daily and has product knowledge concentrated in a few engineers may keep one in-house QA lead. That lead can manage an outside vendor for regression and device coverage.
Can QA outsourcing work for regulated industries like healthcare and finance?
QA outsourcing can work for healthcare and finance when the vendor documents the rules it tests against. ScienceSoft names HIPAA and FDA requirements on its healthcare testing page. ScienceSoft's banking cases name the financial regulations they cover. QASource states HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR and SOX compliance as a baseline. TestingXperts lists PCI DSS-aware testing for banks, fintech and insurers. Healthcare buyers should also ask whether the vendor signs a BAA. Several ranked vendors, including Abstracta and QualityLogic, publish no BAA.
Is QA outsourcing viable for products that release multiple times a day?
QA outsourcing can support several releases a day when the vendor's tests run automatically in the release pipeline. QA Wolf's Metronome case reports four fully tested production releases per day. QA Wolf's Vesta case reports a daily regression run under 5 minutes. ScienceSoft published a case with about 90 automated scripts for a US SaaS provider with daily deployments. QualityLogic reports integrating about 3,000 end-to-end tests into a Jenkins pipeline. Manual-only vendors fit this pattern poorly. A buyer should ask for the median suite run time and the flake rate.
Can a QA outsourcing partner work across multiple time zones?
A QA outsourcing partner can cover multiple time zones when its staff sit in several regions. ScienceSoft states time zone coverage from GMT -9 in North America to GMT +13. QA Wolf recruits engineers from the US, the UK and Australia for 24-hour QA. Mindful QA states that it has testers in every American time zone. Abstracta describes the time-zone alignment of its nearshore testers as favorable for North American clients. A buyer should ask for the overlap hours written into the contract.
Should we outsource QA if we already have an in-house QA team?
A company with an in-house QA team can still outsource QA for extra capacity or for skills the team lacks. Staff augmentation adds testers who follow the in-house team's process and tools. ScienceSoft lists team augmentation among its models. QASource offers team extension and on-demand QA resources. Mindful QA offers a dedicated tester embedded in an Agile team. Specialist work can also go outside, such as performance, security or accessibility testing. The in-house team should keep ownership of the test strategy and of the automation repository.
Which companies test only with US-based staff?
Three ranked companies state that their testing is done in the United States. QualityLogic describes itself as a 100% US-based QA firm. Mindful QA states that all staff, from management to testers, are located in the USA. iBeta states that its testing resources work in the United States. QualityLogic ranks second, Mindful QA fifth and iBeta eighth. Mindful QA scored 100 on US presence and delivery, the highest result on that dimension.
Which companies offer accessibility testing in the USA?
QualityLogic offers WCAG and Section 508 accessibility testing, delivered by US-based staff. QualityLogic's Fischer Identity case covered VPAT-compatible UI certification for RFP responses. ImpactQA reports a 50% cut in QA costs for Learning A-Z through WCAG 2.1 accessibility testing. iBeta lists accessibility testing among its lab services. Mindful QA includes accessibility checks in its web and mobile release testing. ScienceSoft lists usability testing but does not list a separate accessibility service. Public-sector buyers with Section 508 duties can start with QualityLogic.
